"Moon Magic - New Moon in Cancer July 4, 2016" by Patty Shaw.

When the timing is off, the stress goes up. Here at Coventry we have a few candles designed specifically to keep the money flowing. This 4th of July, pick your purpose and declare financial independence.

For a new business, you’ll want to get a Querent Caller Hoo Doo Candle and a Stability Blessed Herbal Candle. Focus your intention on bringing business home to you and nobody else. Write the names of clients or the description of your ideal customer on the Querent Caller Candle. Then, write your name or the name of your business on the Stability Blessed Herbal Candle. Put them in candle holders and place them about 12 inches apart from each other. Say your prayer or affirmation about attracting more business and light the candles. Burn them for about 3 hours before blowing them out. On the next day, move the candles closer together, about 3-4 inches, light them again, and say your prayer or blessing. Do this again each day until they are touching. By burning away any negative resistance to your success, you and your money will get closer together.

If you are looking for a raise or promotion seek out a Crown of Glory Hoo Doo Candle and a Needed Changes Blessed Herbal Candle. Begin by burning the Needed Changes candle. Read the blessing on the label out loud. Add that you would like to clear any and all negativity between you and the person (or people) authorizing your raise or promotion. Light the candle and imagine the flame incinerating all that dark energy into nothingness; leaving space for positive feelings around you and your great qualities. Let the candle burn for a day or two and then extinguish it. Now light the Crown of Glory Hoo Doo Candle. Imagine the connection between you and your employers being filled with the energy of mutual appreciation and recognition. Burn the candle until it’s done.

"Healing Your Relationship With Abundance" by Patty Shaw.

I teach this in my book Healers Almanac and Jacki and I echo it in our book DIY Akashic Wisdom. In fact, personal evolution is spoken about throughout many spiritual teachings. The idea that we can influence the quality of our life with our thoughts and will has become so integrated in our culture that I’m seeing it applied in just about all levels of business and advertising. Yes, marketing has grabbed this concept and run with it. As we change, the world around us changes too, eventually.

What we focus on grows; we create our own reality; like attracts like; you catch more flies with honey, and on and on it goes. One thing all these clichés have in common is us and our awareness of the quality of our energy. We are the lynch pin in the details of our life and a critical part of the co-creation concept.

This is the magical part of healing. Knowing the alchemical secrets of how energy works will give us more control over our destiny and quality of our life. Karma is not a bitch, because bitches are unreasonable and don’t give options. Karma is filled with options and we need to pick one to keep the energy flowing. Flowing energy is what abundance looks like.

What I’ve learned as a student and practitioner of Reiki and Pranic Healing is that disease in our bodies and dysfunction in our lives happens wherever the energy is stuck, stagnant, and congested in our chakras and auras. When we take the time to clear old stuck energy, we become healthier and “luck” comes our way.

How magnificent it that? What is happening is that our energy is flowing in and out, feeding our physical body, our minds, and our emotions. This constant cycling of vibrant fresh energy is what keeps us healthy, alert and full of joy. Anything that prevents us from having this powerful exchange with the universe is what needs to be healed. It reduces our connection to life force and causes us to lose our ability to create and manifest abundance, whether in health or wealth. How and what is blocking the energy will tell us where our body or life will become atrophied. It’s a basic and simple perspective, but a great place to start when taking on healing your relationship with abundance.

If we still lived in a barter system, we would not be so worried about how much money we had. We’d be more concerned about what skills we had, or how healthy and strong we were, or how many chickens we had to trade. Today our survival and worth is tied up in money and so it goes, money has become as important as the air we breathe.

Healing our relationship with money is the same as healing our relationship with our self. The secret is to find where we are clogged and why, then forgive and let it go. Today’s candle ritual will help us do just that.

You will need a Healing Blessed Herbal Candle, an Emotional Balance Blessed Herbal Candle, and a Needed Change Blessed Herbal Candle. It will take roughly an hour to complete this ritual and you can certainly do it as often as you like.

We start with the Needed Changes Blessed Herbal Candle. Take all the packaging off and write into the wax your financial goal. It could be the salary you need or the windfall you’d like. You don’t have to limit yourself to cash; maybe your financial goal revolves around something more sustaining like more ideal clients or better producing fruit trees. It’s possible you need fresh new ideas or improvement on one you’re working on right now. After scribing the candle, set it in a candle holder.

Now, on a piece of paper write down the thoughts and feelings that come up when you think about your financial situation. Note where you feel it in your body. Observe the words you choose. Are they your normal words or do they sound like they came from beyond you, from someone else’s life? What are your emotional reactions? How do you feel? Does pain or discomfort in your body come to your attention? Everything is a clue to where your energy is stuck and why. If you can’t relate to some of your thoughts and feelings investigate your family tree. You may be mirroring something that happened to an ancestor. Refer to the book DIY Akashic Wisdom and legacy work.

Fold up the piece of paper and place it under the Emotional Balance Blessed Herbal Candle. Remove all the packaging and light the candle. Sit at least five feet from the candle. Relax and let yourself go into meditation. In your imagination watch as all the words on the piece of paper flow from the paper, up the candle, and into the flame to be transformed into smoke and absorbed by the air. Turn your attention to yourself and imagine the congested energy from your mind, emotions, and physical body doing the same thing. Allow the energy flow up and out of your chakras, aura, and body dissipate into the flame. When you feel this is done, blow out the candle, and open a window to let the stagnant energy out into the world.

After a few minutes of air exchange, close the window, and remove the packaging and light the Healing Blessed Herbal and Needed Changes Blessed Herbal candles. Go back into meditation and allow yourself to be filled with healing light, it’s often white, violet or gold. Accept this healing energy and affirm that you let go completely and permanently everything that blocks your abundance; especially anything you are not personally responsible for. If you are needing to forgive, do that and again completely let go. You may need to call upon Archangel Michael to cut cords between you and another person. When you feel that is done, turn your focus to the Needed Changes candle and allow yourself to be filled with the energy of what you wrote in the wax. Take as long as you need. When you feel complete blow out the two candles, and be grateful for the healing from the holy ones, the archangels, healing angels and your personal guides. After your ritual, take a salt bath and relax.

"Tap Into the Roots of Money Troubles" by [author].

The Band-Aid method is honestly the norm; we plow through the day, find the rock in our path and blast it out of the way. What if that rock was a new opportunity and since you were so singularly focused you missed out on it?

Think about the farmer who builds the family home, one boulder at a time, as he finds them in his field. Each moment of adversity is always an opportunity, whether for prosperity or perspective. You can look into any event in life and measure all the steps that got you there. From this place of awareness you can take a new path, make a new decision or just be grateful for where you are now. To have the freedom of choice is some of the most powerful magic you can create. When you make a choice your energy flows to it and instantly you begin the process of manifesting.

In the “Shake Your Money Tree” class, I ask everyone to state their beliefs around money. Is it a tool for survival? Is it a tool to thrive, a tool of creation, or part of their self-image? Is money the root of all evil? When you pull out your core belief, you can start to re-write the script. If you lay your new belief on top of the old one, the old one will seep through and distort your aspirations.

Once you identify your core belief you then set a goal for yourself financially. Setting and working on that goal will uncover all the little ways your old belief was in charge and even sabotaging you. Rewriting that old script one moment at a time is more manageable than trying to force feed yourself a new flavor of Kool-Aid. Goals help you get where you want to go. If you don’t know where you are going, you will never get there.

When you focus your energy into your goal, you are feeding it, and moving it towards manifestation. What you focus on grows; it’s as simple as that. If you focus on your fears they will grow. If you focus on your success, it will grow. When you have the goal, and the map written by your beliefs, you will know what type of magic you need to get there.

It’s the little things that we bring the magic into that add up to an even bigger spell. When you live the magic in your words and deeds, your faith becomes stronger and your mind a bit more tranquil. If you are dealing with the issues your prosperity is tied to the magic will multiply. Remember, what you focus on grows. When you focus on gratitude, the things you are grateful for will grow in quantity and quality.

"Your Cosmic Dose — Saturn vs Neptune" by Storm Cestavani.

Let’s get down to the nitty gritty and try to understand this energy and how we can use it productively.

Hiding under a rock is not an option – ok it is – but ignoring this aspect usually makes things worse.

Saturn square Neptune is known as the aspect of internal disappointment and it can lead to enormous frustration in your personal and professional life.  You will find that areas in your life where you feel overwhelmed, victimized, or out of control may be a hint of where this aspect is activated.

Saturn leans towards reality and Neptune leans towards illusions and the need to escape our problems and responsibilities.  So you can easily see how this could become problematic.  While this aspect is active you may experience fears, phobias, anxieties about particular areas of your life.  Further, an area of your life may feel inadequate at this time.

(I am only scratching the surface with this intensive aspect.  To find out how it is influencing your chart, contact me for your own reading)

But, how do we work through it?

These two planets are tricky!  If you lean towards one, the other strikes back, and as I said earlier, it usually makes things worse.  Saturn square Neptune requires one to wait for the answers or wait for the aspect to be over in order to begin to move forward because you need to be able to see the forest between the trees to make beneficial decisions.

In many cases, this aspect is one that requires a lot of soul searching and patience.  It may mean that you need to question every aspect of your life and decide whether or not your current purpose is still aligned with your desires, which ultimately may be changing.  If you tend to lean towards rigidity and structure, then Neptune will often make you feel like a victim to life’s circumstances because it will be difficult to create anything tangible that gives you inner meaning.  If you lean towards Neptunian infantilism (hiding under the bed not wanting to be born) and refuse to face life as it is, then Saturn will often bring forth experiences that effectively force you to grow up and face reality on its own terms.  In other words, it is necessary to give meaning to both of these planets in order to get to the core of Saturn square Neptune’s deepest meaning and be able to channel them into something meaningful that promotes individual growth.

How Saturn square Neptune Influences the Signs:

Since this aspect is so tough, I decided to give you a little bit of a cheat sheet to help you get through this aspect.  Although the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) will be the most influenced, we all have Saturn square Neptune in our charts.  I would suggest that you read this for both your sun sign and your rising sign.  If you need a copy of your chart, you can get one for free by clicking here.  Also, I have a free tutorial to help you understand your horoscope.

Aries:  The big picture is of utter importance to you.   However, it is necessary that you view the big picture realistically and start approaching the things you want to conquer one step at a time.  This does not mean that you give up on your dream, it means that in order for your dreams to manifest in reality, you have to give birth to them in some practical form.

Taurus:   You need to get control of your financial picture while developing associations with others that will help you achieve your goals.  This would be best achieved by joining groups or clubs that are aligned with your current objectives and where you feel like you are part of a group that helps support your visions.

Gemini:  Relationships with others may be a bit frustrating, but there is a need for you to associate and be connected with solid people — that you can rely on.  Career matters could prove illusive and many new opportunities could be presented.  Do not be afraid to let your creativity flow, because it will help you get to the next level.

Cancer:  Your day to day life may prove to be frustrating as responsibilities may overwhelm you.  It’s necessary that you connect to your higher self and be guided by spirit and refuse to never give up.

Leo:  It’s time to invest in yourself and give birth to all the creative ideas you have in your head, but first you may need to let go of any fears or inhibitions that are plaguing you.  With Neptune in your 8th house, use your intuition to guide your decisions, but make sure those decisions are realistic.

Virgo:  Lingering family issues may make you feel stifled and out of control, which could also affect your personal relationships and partnerships.  It’s best to become very clear about your relationship in general and to not be afraid of upsetting the apple cart.

Libra: It’s time to discipline your thoughts and really get a clear practical plan in motion.  This could be complicated by chaotic experience in your day to day life.  Try not to get thrown of course and try to control the overwhelming voices in your head.

Scorpio:  Your finances are going to be a major concern and Saturn in your second house indicates that you need to work hard and conserve your resources.  This is not a great time for risky investments, because you may act on them compulsively.  Be cautious of any financial traction at this time.

Sagittarius:  Feelings of personal frustration and inhibitions might be apparent while this aspect is active.  This could be connected to family issues or familial expectations.  If you experience depression or difficult times coping, try to get to the root of the problem, because it will provide you with intensive breakthroughs.

Capricorn:  Saturn your planetary ruler lands in your solar 12th house.   Unresolved past issues may come to the surface that require you to deal with them, once and for all.  You may feel disoriented and confused while this aspect is active, and it may be necessary to wait until later in the year to make huge arching decisions.

Aquarius:  Saturn in the solar 11th house can be difficult because we feel responsible for friends and associates and often isolated by them.  It may be necessary to reach out to others more frequently.  Your finances may prove troubling with Neptune in the solar 2nd and you may need to pay closer attention to your bottom line, then you ordinarily would.  It is recommended to avoid laziness, because money simply doesn’t grow on trees and effort needs to be made.

Pisces:  Your natural ruler lands in your solar 1st house, which reflects a period of soul searching and inner discovery.  You may feel confused about your personal goals, yet Saturn in the solar 10th house is a powerful position to use to get your career, life purpose, and reputation on track.  Try to avoid staying stuck in self-pity or a lack of self-confidence, as this will be a primary force in preventing your forward movement.

"Astro 101: Introduction to Aspects" by Storm Cestavani.

If so, I got your hookup!

Let’s review what we have learned so far:

  • Astronomy
  • Basic Jungian Psychology
  • Gender
  • Orientation
  • Elements and Signs
  • Houses

Now, before we get started on the planets (they are next), I want to spend a blog post on aspects.

What is an aspect?  (GEEK ALERT)

First, you need to imagine a circle – in this case, the horoscope, which is a circle (360 degrees) that is divided by 12 and creates the signs you know and love.   These twelve signs are 30 degrees each.  (For the math geeks…30X12 = 360)

Next, you need to remember that planets are constantly in motion and move around the signs based on their speed.  The Sun moves at about 1 degree per day, so it moves around the entire zodiac every year.   The Moon moves faster than the Sun and moves through every single sign in about 28 ½ days.  However, the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto) move very slowly and can spend many years in a sign.  Hence, the further away from the Sun a planet is, the longer it takes to go around the Sun.  It is generally accepted that the further a planet is out, it will tend to dominate or color the aspect, but you need to keep both in mind while doing an interpretation.

In this blog post, I am going to focus on the major aspects that I use regularly in charts.  There are many minor aspects, but I feel that they provide nuance to planets, but add little to the discussion.  I may do another post on them in the future.  So, you won’t see any dociles, reptiles, or imbeciles (these aren’t really minor aspects) here.

The Conjunction:

This is the most powerful aspect in a chart and it corresponds to the circle being divided by 1.  In astrology, the conjunction reflects a marriage between two planets.   This means that these two planets are wedded together through the course of a lifetime and these two planets will forever be intertwined together.  In some cases, these two planets get along and in other cases their energies are so incompatible that it can cause great difficulties if it is not managed and worked out later in life.

For example, the Sun conjunct Mars is a very powerful and dynamic aspect which gives enormous drive and ambition.  These two fiery planets highly compatible.   However, Venus conjoined with Saturn reflects feelings of inadequacy and often struggles through relationships because of deep insecurities.

One thing to note about conjunctions is that the energy is very pure because the division is by 1.  Therefore, all potentials and possibilities of the aspect lie within the conjunction.  I personally use very large orbs and I suggest using 8-10 degrees for a conjunction and you should pay close attention to them because they can often take over an entire chart because their energy is so strong.

The Opposition:

In the mystical kabbalah, the number ‘2’ is associated with the beginning of fragmentation.  The potential of the 1 has now been divided into 2 and reflects a pair of opposites and although these opposites are very much alike they represent two different sides of the same coin.

Here is a list of the opposing signs:

Aries – Libra
Taurus – Scorpio
Gemini – Sagittarius
Cancer – Capricorn
Leo – Aquarius
Virgo – Pisces

These pairs are similar in modality and gender, but oppositions in regards to how they express these energies.  So, within this aspect, there is tension, uncertainty and often doubt.

Let me give you an example – Aries has to do with individual development.  It is the sign of ‘me’.  Whereas, it’s opposing sign which is Libra, has to do with relationships.  Taurus has to do with resources, but its opposite sign Scorpio has to do with joint resources.  So, there is a natural disharmony within this aspect that needs to be reconciled and you have to find a way to give life to both sides of the aspect.

In the natural horoscope (this signifies starting with Aries and working our way around to Pisces), oppositions strongly influence relationships (because it evokes a natural 1st house – 7th house relationship).  You will often see one side of the opposition projected onto relationships and our partners carry the parts we do not carry for us until we integrate the opposition.   Essentially, the opposition is an aspect of conflict and it can evoke struggles and enormous tension within the horoscope.

Here is another example:

Let’s say you have a very earthy chart, which would reflect a tendency to need things solid and secure.  Reliability is very important to you, as is dependability.  In your chart you have Venus in Taurus opposed to Uranus in Scorpio.  Your natural inclination is to claim Venus (since she is earthy and in an earthy sign) and project Uranus onto your relationships.  So, although you value relationship structure and do not like change, you will invariably find change and unpredictability in your personal relationships and in your relationships with the outer world.

You feel stable, but everything else feels chaotic and a bit unpredictable. It becomes necessary to eventually bring these two poles together in a way that gives you meaning and eventually allows you to contain anxieties that might occur because of the opposition.  In the case of Venus oppose Uranus, often there is a difficulty holding onto relationships because once you try to structure them, the partner often needs freedom.  This can be very stressful and it requires you to look at your own ambivalence in relationships (after all this is your Venus-Uranus aspect) and to face the fact that ultimately, sooner or later, everything changes and nothing is permanent.  If you are doing shadow work, then oppositions are important and need to be examined closely.

I use 8-10 degrees for an opposition.

The Trine:

Are you really good at something?  I am.  I am great at studying and putting things together that are often difficult for others.  I can see things quickly that other people do not notice or often ignore.  Some people would say this is a gift, but I think it’s more Mercury in trine to Saturn.

Trines are the result of dividing a circle by the number three and is considered an aspect of harmony and ease.  Psychologically speaking, a trine reflects a part of the psyche that the ego can easily manage.  However, the difficulty with this aspect is that it often lacks the tension necessary, for growth and can create laziness if it isn’t actively pushed or challenged.

Trines are also considered lucky.  If we look at the natural horoscope trines involve elemental similarities and gender identification.

Here are the groupings:

Aries – Leo – Sagittarius
Taurus – Virgo – Capricorn
Gemini – Libra – Aquarius
Cancer – Scorpio – Pisces

Let’s use the aspect that I presented earlier from my chart – Mercury in Virgo trine Saturn in Taurus.

As you can see this is an earth trine and is concerned with what is real and practical.   Mercury is concerned with how we understand life and perceive the world and Saturn is disciplined and critical.  In the ease of the trine, these two planets work together harmoniously.  So, you get an individual who carefully and methodically looks at life and circumstances that are presented to them, analyzing it wholly in order to come to a conclusion because the powers of the mind are disciplined and tend to not stray into the world of fantasy and possibility.  Mercury trine Saturn is concerned with what “is” rather than what could be.

The difficulty with Mercury trine Saturn is that it can sometimes ignore opportunities because it is so focused on the ‘now’ and the big picture can often be ignored because it is too much of a risk or a gamble.  This can often leave you trapped in duties and responsibilities and joy and happiness are often sacrificed for the bottom line.

I use an 8-degree orb for trines.

The Square:

Brace yourself!  It’s about to get real.  When you divide the zodiacal circle by four, you get an aspect that is known as a square.  Out of all the aspects, it is probably the most difficult to experience and the hardest to integrate because the planets involved in a square have little in common with each other.

Here are your squares:

Aries = Cancer + Capricorn
Taurus = Leo + Aquarius
Gemini = Virgo + Pisces
Cancer = Aries + Libra
Leo = Taurus + Scorpio
Virgo = Gemini + Sagittarius
Libra = Cancer + Capricorn
Scorpio = Leo + Aquarius
Sagittarius = Virgo + Pisces
Capricorn = Aries + Libra
Aquarius = Taurus + Scorpio
Pisces = Gemini + Sagittarius

The square is a high tension part of the chart and the planets involved usually reflect areas in your life where problems are likely to occur because the planets tend to be at war with one another throughout your life.  However, because this aspect is so intense, it’s an area where tremendous potential can occur because it makes us determined and restless.

In many ways, the square is the exact opposite of the trine.  Trines are extremely easy aspect that tend to become lazy because they are rarely challenged, but square are extremely difficult and often provide tremendous drive and motivation.

Like oppositions, squares tend to influence our relationships.  If you count 3 signs over from Aries (30 degrees per sign X 3 = 90 degrees, which is a square) you come to the sign of Cancer and if you do it again in reverse, you come to the sign of Capricorn or the 4th/10th house axis, which I have taught previously has a lot to do with our parents, early childhood, and how this leads to our formation as individual or our relationship to the world.  So, squares usually reflect long term issues from childhood that have an enormous effect on our personality.

Let’s work with the example of Mars in square to Saturn:

Mars and Saturn are not the best of friends.  Mars likes to act and can be extremely frustrated when he is restricted.  He builds up steam and often picks a fight when he does not get what he wants.  Saturn is the epitome of restriction and limitation.  Together you can see how this can be difficult – every time Mars wants to act, Saturn frustrates him.

This aspect tension can usually be found in early childhood in which our ability to get what we want is often denied.  This can build up to feelings of inadequacy, vulnerability, and often being predisposed to failing.  As a result, it can create an atmosphere of aloofness which can alienate those around us that could help us get what we want, but are less likely to do so because we appear cold and detached.

In some cases, Mars square Saturn can overcompensate by becoming extremely ambitious and determined and will expend enormous energy to achieve something.  In other cases, Mars square Saturn will simply give up.  This is a constant cycle that on one level or another, will constantly arise for the Mars-Saturn native.

In order to work with this aspect effectively, Mars square Saturn needs to be more approachable and accommodating with others.  This will allow him to feel support by those around him and be able to receive assistance in helping him achieve his goals.  Further, he needs to try to slow down and be patient and perhaps succeed at things one-step at a time.  This helps to develop self-confidence and self-worth.

I tend to use large orbs with squares.  8-10 degrees is recommended.

The Sextile:

We arrive at the last of the major aspects.  The sextile is formed by dividing a circle by the number 6 and coming up with an angle of 60 degrees.

The sextile is considered a harmonious aspect and many astrologers consider it a weak trine.  However, unlike the innate luck attributed to trines, sextiles need to be worked on in order for their potential to be realized.

The difficulty with the sextile is that it is a mental aspect because it is connected to the 3rd and 11th house or Gemini and Aquarius.  Sextiles can easily get trapped in thoughts and ideas and may have difficulties taking advantage of the aspect by giving it form. So, sextiles can be considered opportunities, but they are not innate.

Signs in Sextile:

Aries = Gemini + Aquarius
Taurus = Cancer + Pisces
Gemini = Aries + Leo
Cancer = Taurus + Virgo
Leo = Gemini + Libra
Virgo = Cancer + Scorpio
Libra = Leo + Sagittarius
Scorpio = Virgo + Capricorn
Sagittarius = Libra + Aquarius
Capricorn = Scorpio + Pisces
Aquarius = Aries + Sagittarius
Pisces = Taurus + Capricorn

Let’s work with an example – Mercury sextile Mars.

Mercury is the planet of communication and Mars is the planet that gives us drive and determination.  When you combine these two archetypes together, you get a very active mind and excellent communication skills.  People that have this aspect usually latch on to things quickly and your ability to observe things around you is heightened.

Mercury sextile Mars also makes you an amazing negotiator, and your ability to compose arguments that get your point across clearly and precisely, gives you an edge in business matters.  However, you have to manage knee-jerk reactions because Mars has little self-control – especially if your opinions are challenged.  This aspect values freedom of thought and freedom of expression and is willing to fight for them.  So, you will often find people with this aspect gifted with a silver tongue, which can be biting at times.

As I said earlier, sextiles are not as easy as trines.  People that have Mercury sextile Mars will often have to work at it for the aspect to express itself optimally, but on a more positive note, it also does not tend to become lazy.  In essence, it is developed over time and once developed provides the native with opportunities that otherwise would not be available.

You can find out the aspects in your own chart for free by clicking here.   I have also prepared a tutorial on how to read a computerized chart to help you with your astrological journey.

"Is it me? Or am I just that unlucky?" by Patty Shaw.

Bottom line, no matter how or why you are in the shape you are in, you can make some positive improvements to your life by letting go of the past, old habits, and for goodness sake, let go of that “poor me” attitude.

Uncross Energy by Clearing Destructive Behaviors

Your first move is to pick out a self-sabotaging behavior, looking it square in the eye and say, “I don’t need you, I don’t want you, and I certainly don’t want to ride this crazy train with you any longer.”

We’re going to go through this transformation the Coventry way with a few meaningful and thought provoking steps and then we’ll bring on the magic.

Step one: Choose the thing you are ready to let go of; to clear and cleanse from your body, mind, and emotions. Take your time and pick the thing you can really commit too. Be reasonable and choose an attainable goal. If you’d like to kick an addiction, make sure you are ready, and have lots of support in place to lean on when the craving hits or the triggers are launched. In this step you’ll want to burn a Truth and Justice Blessed Herbal Candle to help you choose.

Step two: Get ready for the change by forgiving yourself and any others for anything that has contributed to the situation. This will make it a lot easier to release it all in step three. Next, spend some time accepting yourself. All your ups and downs are good enough. In fact, you are quite lovable and worthy of love no matter what others have said to you or how they treated you. When you hear and feel the resistance to loving yourself and letting yourself be loved, acknowledge it. Gently say, “This is not who I really am, this is an illusion or distortion. I see you and now I let you go into the light.”

Most shifts we make have this emotional layer. Our compassion, patience, and open mindedness are needed. Go as slow as you need to and most importantly, be your own best friend. Don’t give up on yourself. During this step we invite you to burn a Spiritual Cleansing Blessed Herbal Candle. While it’s burning keep releasing your grief and pain into the light of the flame. It’s ok to repeat this step as many times as you need to.

Step three: Free the judgments, regrets, resentments, and lost potential by surrendering this outdated way of seeing yourself into the light. This is a very magical thing to do and is used by many self-help processes, the most famous one being the AA 12 step program. Make this a reverent moment for yourself by inviting the light in. Imagine that it’s right there beaming its brilliance and warmth right into your face just like a sunny summer day. Don’t forget the gentle breeze that cools you while you let all of your angst flow from you into the light. If you find it helpful to have a candle flame to represent the light for you, burn a Happiness Blessed Herbal candle during this step. It is bright yellow and is all about the sun and how transformational and life giving it is.

Step four: Create your new habits and make them good ones. Don’t let this be an exercise just in your unconscious. Bring your new found freedom up into your consciousness by creating an action plan to ground it in your reality. This action plan should be full of new behaviors, a positive attitude, and a support system you can lean on when the resistance and challenges come. They may come from within or from your world around you but you can be ready for them by making decisions ahead of time and committing them to memory. Keep a talisman in your purse or pocket that reminds you of the new direction you are going. A great mentor for this step is Ganesh. Blessed Herbal Candles in June

"Crossed, Cursed or Jinxed? There is a difference!" by [author].

Negativity is like a bad spirit that inhabits your heart, sending messages to your psyche that tear down your self esteem and self image. Believing in the negative self image makes you seek out others like you even if you have to make them that way with your own negativity; tearing apart the people around you, seeking their flaws and using your words and actions to widen those cracks to find their negativity.

Goodness knows it is easy to succumb to this negativity, which is why the goal is to keep rich and strong in body and mind. A spirit that is strong, fed, and healthy looks for others who are like them and stops self sabotage in its tracks. It is more difficult to walk the path of vitality and strength, but it is infinitely more rewarding. My suggestion to help you along is the Truth and Justice and Emotional Balance Blessed Herbal candles. Looking into the mirror honestly will help identify the roots and emotional balance is required to sooth our scarred spirits.

Spitting and Cursing

Curses on the other hand, are a deliberate ritual or action to send continual negative energy and can be passed down through generations as a legacy. Curses come to us from the outside but are often rooted in our behavior or from the unresolved karma of our ancestors.

“Most dissertations on magical ethics tout the laws of harm none and karmic return. These adages are wonderful touchstones by which to measure your own behavior and intent. I personally do not completely subscribe to these rules. I think that they rely too heavily on an external force of punishment and not enough on the internal responsibility we all hold for our actions.” Jacki Smith, Coventry Magic

In essence, we are all self-centered and sometimes our behaviors put us in these situations. We apply a harsher brand of ethics to the people around us, especially when we feel wronged. When we lash out and harm others there is always an underlying motivation and layers of extenuating circumstances.

The Protection and Spiritual Cleansing Blessed Herbal candles will come in handy in curse breaking. Protection will keep you safe from harm while cleansing will help give you a clean slate; clearing you of your responsibility in the situation.

Jinxed!

When someone thinks negatively of you and sends you ill will it is referred to as a jinx. It can also be called the Evil Eye, Bad Mouth, or simply negative energy. Again, even though this is from an outside influence it pays to look to our own part in the situation. Once again, the only behaviors we control are our own and our choices brought us to this place. The Needed Changes Blessed Herbal candle will help alter our own actions to stop us from getting back into the same space over and over again. Needed Changes also opens the door for apologies and opens us up to positivity once again.

Every human being has to deal with negativity in one way or another and it’s no good to stick your head in the sand and to ignore it. The best bet is to face it head on and understand what your contribution is to it. If you are reading this and thinking about whom in your life needs to understand what their contribution to the toxicity in your life is, you need to stop looking around you and start looking in the mirror. Negativity is not about others, it’s about US. It’s about the person looking back in the mirror to you and your part in the play.
